Still No WMD Found?
Áine on April 28th, 2003 filed in PoliticsWhere Have All the WMD-Hunters Gone? by David Corn is worthwhile reading. I’d quote some of it here but inevitably, I’d miss something you should probably read, so I’m just passing along the link.
The question begs to be answered, though. If they actually did expect to find WMD, why are there no massive WMD-hunter groups, with all their trained experts, in Iraq right now searching for and securing them?
The Los Angeles Times reported on April 20, that the Defense Department is still preparing to send “hundreds of additional investigators to speed up the search” for WMD and remains in the process of “assembling a ’survey group’ with more than 1,000 experts to interrogate Iraqi scientists and sift through recovered documents to broaden the search for weapons of mass destruction.”
Why are they still preparing, and in the process of assembling this group? They’ve had well over a year to assemble the teams and experts they’d need.
Fishy…
