RIAA/MPAA Ban
Áine on July 29th, 2003 filed in GeneralTechfocus News & Commentary has something of interest… a .htaccess file which can ban the RIAA and MPAA from your website. All known IPs of those two organizations are included in the file, and any updates to it can be found at the link above.
I’ve been reading a few other sites online tonight, too, and there are some fledgling P2P file-sharing services that are claiming to be capable of keeping all identities anonymous, even from the snooping of ISP’s. I’m willing to bet the RIAA never intended for things like that to be developed, and they probably wouldn’t have if the RIAA and MPAA hadn’t pushed the issue and made criminals out of college students, grandmothers, and the 60 million other music-sharing people out there. BTW, that’s more people than those who voted for Bush in 2000.
This is one topic I find very interesting, and I’ve been following along for about the last 18 months or so. Blocking these lobbyists from your website sure sounds like a good idea to me. ![]()
