Would you rather tell the truth or take a dare?

I would rather tell the truth. I’m not ashamed of much of anything I’ve said or done in my life, and most people that know me fairly well realize that they can ask me about almost anything and I’ll talk about it (provided I’m not bound to some sort of secrecy agreement with a third-party, that is). I accept that I have faults and am not perfect; I’ve said and done some pretty stupid things and no doubt I’ll do that again in the future. I do have regrets too, but not that many.

Still, in my experience, most “dares” that people propose tend to be stupid, pointless, embarrassing, or childish things meant to make a fool out of the person taking the dare rather than serving as a personal challenge. If the person proposing the dare could be subject to the same challenge, it might make things a bit more interesting and worthwhile,… but generally, that’s not the case.

I’d have to say truth as well, especially since with my soap-imitating existance, “daring” to tell the truth would entail owning up to stupid, pointless, embarrassing, or childish things …
