Personal Note from Aine
Áine on July 25th, 2004 filed in ProfileWhat strange times these are. A lot of awful and aweful things
happening in the world. I’m enjoying sharing my thoughts here, I hope
to share more of the goings-on of my life from day to day, and in
general, and I look forward to making this blog as content-filled as
ever. I’m grateful to be alive, I’m grateful to be growing more
connected with those of you who read these words as every year passes.
I thank you for being patient with me as I’ve grown/matured, as I’ve
slowly come out of hiding and my solitude, and become more comfortable
with my life, my role, my purpose, my humanity, and that which is other
than human. I thank you for spending some part of your day reading what
I have to say. I’m thankful for the technology that makes us able to be
in touch from anywhere around the world. I know I’m not always the
easiest person in the world to get along with, and I take nothing you
offer me (by way of thoughts, shared experiences, listening, etc.) for
granted.
Sappy? Sugary? Maybe, but it’s who I am. Even those people who
are no longer a part of my life for whatever reason… they, too, have
contributed to the person I am today in both positive and negative
ways. If nothing else, they’ve taught me some valuable lessons I
apparently needed to learn. Lessons about depression and pain, trust
and friendship, mostly about Love. I think I am a toxic relationship
magnet, at times. On the other hand, I’ve found that these things are
often great contributors to my own creativity whether it is art,
writing, poetry, or something else. So, even out of the worst of times
and situations, comes some good.
So thank you.
