THC may help Alzheimer Patients

“Scientists at one of Spain’s leading research centres claimed yesterday [Wednesday] to have found evidence that cannabis helps prevent the memory loss experienced by people suffering from Alzheimer’s.”

“Their [preliminary] study seems to show that THC, the main active ingredient in cannabis, inhibits the activity of cells that cause damage to neurons in the brain.” - [via Guardian UK]

Just goes to show you what can be accomplished when you get the bureaucracy and the drug companies out of the way of scientific research and innovation.
