What Sacrifice Has Bush Made?

Áine on June 28th, 2005 filed in Politics

“Is the sacrifice worth it? It is worth it and it is vital to the security of our country,” Bush told a nation increasingly doubtful about the toll of the 27-month-old war.

Nine times he referred to 9/11. Still pushing the lie that Iraq had something to do with 9/11 or even Al Qaeda. And did you notice? He even managed to push out a little tear…

bush cries 28June05

‘Oh, pweese, you gotta beleeb me… you gotta stick by me… you jus’ gotta!’

He’s not crying for dead soldiers or dead Iraqis and Afghanis; he’s not crying for kids that don’t have their mommies and daddies anymore or even for the victims of 9/11. He’s crying for himself because his poll numbers are the lowest they’ve ever been, and he can’t possibly admit that he’s ever made a mistake. He doesn’t give a shit how he’s bankrupted the nation, nor how many service members he’s sent into danger. He isn’t sacrificing anything. His daughters’ lives aren’t on the line. They don’t even have jobs because they don’t need to sacrifice any of their precious time in service to others. What’s his net worth? A lot more than before taking office, that’s for sure.

Would the sacrifice of your job, your wealth, and your daughters, still make it “worth it” to you, Mr. Bush? Heh. It’s so easy for you to stand there and tout the sacrifices of others. What have YOU sacrificed, Mr. Bush?

Snivelling jerk. This is supposed to represent our nation, our so-called “strength and resolve”? What a national embarrassment.
