Thought you might enjoy this page from the “Renewal in Iraq” section of the White House Web site.

I was wondering how much renewal there’d been, and that just clears it right up.

Yes, this is the real White House site.

And here’s the screenshot I took, just for the sake of “archiving” the page:

Thanks NMMNB (and Atrios).

There was talk about this on Mahablog as well. The Latin text is a well known placeholder that’s been used for over 500 years; some web person just forgot to remove it before inserting actual relevant text.

Yes, lorem ipsum is well-known to web designers. I use it myself on occasion, but never leave it in place. This, btw, is not the first example of unfinished web pages on the white house site. Try to find a page that lists the grant recipients for those faith-based initiatives, for example.

Point being, if I was a web designer for the White House, I guess I could sit on my ass for five years and do shit work like this and get paid big bucks for it… instead of being the unemployed, yet incredibly picky web designer that I am right now. You’d think the White House could afford better help than that, wouldn’t you? Or maybe… there just hasn’t been any Renewal in Iraq to fill that space with content?

    Un-FREAKIN-believable.

    I detest these people….
