Queen’s Reich? No, Queen’s Demesnes!

When I first started this web log, I remember sitting here for hours, trying to think of a name to call it. (And I know I’ve told this story before, but hang in there, there’s a reason I’m bringing this up again.) Anyway, at the time, I was trying to think of synonyms for things like “clarity of thought” or “quiet contemplations”… which both sounded really dorky to me. Suddenly the words just came into my mind “Silent Lucidity”… and I was like, Yeah! That’s it! I had no clue there was a Queensryche song with that name at the time… I wasn’t really a heavy metal fan, and I also didn’t really watch MTV or anything… so I had no idea, right?

Well, it was about a year later that I found that Queensryche did, indeed, have a song called “Silent Lucidity” (on Empire, 1990-91) and they have a video clip of it on their official web site. So I went there and I watched that… and I thought, “Wow! That is really nice… and even though I didn’t try to rip off their song title, it really does fit well with me and what I’m all about.” So I kept it.

Tonight, I decided to go watch/listen to that video again, and I was looking around on their site… and their record company is re-releasing the first 6-7 albums this Spring, so if you missed that the first time, you’ll have a chance to get it in a few months. But anyway, I’m looking around on there, and what do I see? They also did a song called “Dirty Lil Secrets”… LOL… yes, almost the same name as my poetry blog. And no, I had no idea they had a song with that name either (and I haven’t heard it yet)…

I’m not really a Queensryche fan… but now all of this has got me to thinking… maybe I should be?

Tell you what, though… if I’m ever stuck for a name again… I might think about cruising through their song titles for a clue! LOL
