I’m kind of surprised the AP pulled this out of their files to publish today, although it might have been more effective to do so in, say, October just before the election.
New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, right, dressed in drag as a role in “Victor/Victoria,” sings with Julie Andrews at the New York Hilton in this March 1, 1997 file photo, during an event presented by the Inner Circle. Shocking New Yorkers is difficult, yet Giuliani teetered close to the line when he sauntered on stage wearing a platinum blond wig, a face full of makeup, dainty white gloves and a frilly pink gown filled out in all the right places. Dressing in drag is de rigeuer for New York mayors at the city’s annual Inner Circle dinner – but how it will play with conservative voters in the Republican presidential primaries is unknown. Too funny!
If they put a flour sack over his head, oh wait, you said presidential primaries.
There was another year when he wore fishnets and did high kicks with the Rockettes.
Personally, I have nothing against dressing in drag, being Metrosexual, being Homosexual, being Bisexual, etc., but I seriously doubt the more extremist elements of the Republican party would agree. *grin*
A transvestite vs a Mormon — the Christian right must be pooping their pants.
And then there’s McCain… whom Rove already successfully tainted back in 2000. There don’t seem to be any good choices for those voters.
I call on ALL Drag Queens and Cross Dressers to suport Miss Rudy. It would be fab-u-lous to have a REAL 1st Lady in the white house and oh yes, a home wrecker Bull Dake as the real president!
